Pulse Oximetry

ND Engineering worked on Pulse Oximetry to research various issues and applications related to it. The Pulse-Ox data is collected from probes on finger, nose and cheek. This data can be extremely useful in detecting Arrhythmia or describing Ventilation in Hypovolemic patients. ND Engineering is a partner in a research effort to explore pleth, cardiac bypass and dicrotic notch from Pulse-Ox data. We intend to perform many studies in near future to confirm our existing hypotheses and to explore other uses of Pulse Oximetry.

Flight Control using Neural Network

Since the summer of 2002, NeuroDimension (ND) has been working with NASA's Dryden Research Center under a cooperative agreement to assist in their research related to the development of a flight and propulsion control system using neural networks. The first phase of the project was to implement the Levenberg-Marquardt (LM) neural network learning algorithm used by their system within our NeuroSolutions software. A prototype version of NeuroSolutions that included LM was delivered to NASA Dryden, which allowed their researchers to fully implement their neural network models within NeuroSolutions. The main task for the next phase of the project was to provide the means to take a neural network model developed in NeuroSolutions and integrate that model within Simulink, which is the development environment used by the NASA Dryden researchers to implement their flight control model. This development effort produced NeuroSolutions for MATLAB, which was delivered to NASA Dryden and released as a commercial product in March of 2004.
